University of Cyberjaya All Rounder Student

Fariz Haiqal, a final year Pharmacy student has been a star student of the University of Cyberjaya from the get go. He embarked on his studies with the university after being recommended by Yayasan Pendidikan Peneraju Bumiputera as part of their scholarship programme.

He went on to becoming a straight-A student, athlete, swimming coach and the Student Council President of 2020/2021. He also made the university proud at the National Pharmacy Sports Carnival (NPSC) in 2020 when he won gold medals for the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m running events.

Winner of Online Clinical Skills Event 2020

Sri Dewi Shalleni, a final year student recently won first prize at the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Asia Pacific Regional Office Online Clinical Skills Event 2020.

Winning the event inspired her to participate in many other competitions; her involvement in these competitions garnered attention from the president of the Youth Development Society in Nepal who invited her to be a speaker for a webinar titled, ‘Cross Country Exchange Programme on COVID-19′ which saw almost 200 people in attendance.

Antibiotics Awareness at Karnival Mesra Ubat (KaMU)

Every year, KaMU provides a platform for pharmacy students to forge closer ties with rural local communities through health and drug awareness programmes.

Nurasyikin Binti Zainudin, a 2020 graduate, shared: “KAMU 2019 was the first event I had organised as Project Director. It was a rewarding experience as the community gave great feedback after the event. It was difficult to explain to the community about antibiotic resistance, but we managed to use layman terms to educate them.”

Leaders in the Malaysian Pharmacy Students' Association

Student leaderships is an integral part of extracurricular activities at the University of Cyberjaya. Over the years, its students have been chosen to lead the MyPSA, one of which is Lucas Jee Kwang Hein, Year-4 student who was recently elected as the Publication Officer for 2020/2021.

Lucas was drawn to join the university for its active contribution to the research community. “Various pharmacy-related publications by the University of Cyberjaya lecturers proved that the faculty is not only focused on teaching, but also towards the betterment of the profession and the future of medicine,” he said.
