Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. This highly demanding, 4-year professional degree programme teaches you evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment skills.
The curriculum design, based on recommendations from the World Confederation Physical Therapy (WCPT), reflects current practice with research evidence and enhances students’ knowledge, skills and professionalism.
Along with theoretical knowledge, the students’ will gain appropriate practical skills through practical sessions in our skills lab. Students will be equipped with physiotherapy skills for speciality areas such as geriatrics, paediatrics, sports and women’s health. This programme serves as an intensive preparatory course comprising, introductory science subjects such as chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics, an introduction to the allied health-related subject in anatomy, as well as professional ethics.

This is a 4-year full-time program that provides you with knowledge in kinesiology and exercises therapy to apply physiotherapy skills in musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions. Students will be equipped with physiotherapy skills for speciality areas such as geriatrics, Paediatrics, sports and women’s health. Students’ will be posted in appropriate clinical areas in the hospitals from semester 4.
As part of their extracurricular activities, students will have the opportunity to attend community-based rehabilitation programs, health education programs and health carnivals organized by the student physiotherapy association including the World Physiotherapy Day as promoted by the World Confederation Physical Therapy (WCPT).

Your skills will be improved by the UoC Master of Physiotherapy programme Advanced Musculoskeletal or Neurology specialisation. The Masters programme is designed with working professionals in mind and is offered as a 1.5-year full-time programme or a 3-year part-time programme. The course offers cutting-edge instruction and practical experience from top experts, followed by specialised clinical postings under the supervision of specialists and the research presentation of the student’s choice and interest.With a Master’s qualification in Physiotherapy, physiotherapists can be employed as physiotherapy managers in health-related centres, public and private hospitals, consultant physiotherapists, academicians at universities/colleges and research officers.
8 weeks of clinical posting in the student’s area of specialisation in different Ministry of Health hospitals and specialised physiotherapy hospitals and clinics.

Being a therapist that has a physical medicine and rehabilitation speciality by using mechanical force and movements, remediates impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, and physical intervention.
Specialist recognises physiotherapists who are practising at an advanced level. Physiotherapy Specialists are expected to demonstrate advanced clinical skills and knowledge and contribute to the profession through leadership and research.
